National Automotive Innovation Centre, University of Warwick
The National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) is all about partnership. It brings together the University of Warwick, WMG, Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors European Technical Centre.
We designed the NAIC to encourage collaboration, cohesion and cross-fertilisation of ideas, and will connect leading manufacturers and academic teams whilst attracting the next generation of engineers and designers. It will help to address the shortage of skilled R&D staff in the automotive supply chain, and support the creation of apprenticeships in vehicle technology.
The NAIC contains a host of flexible research spaces over four storeys, surrounded by an equally flexible atrium space where people can come together for demonstrations, meetings, breakout sessions or simply to socialise. Front of house accommodates the main reception and public exhibition area with clear views into the Engineering Hall and cafe.
The NAIC will house 1000 researchers from Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors European Technical Centre and WMG
In addition to the building design, we have defined the spatial organisation, furniture, lighting and AV strategies
