We were asked to design and install a fibre optic ceiling with crystals to give a rainfall effect on the ceiling.
A special design of crystal was required to fit through fibre optics together with a full scale layout of 800 strands to be spaced randomly across the ceiling with the crystal balls randomly distributed along the strands.
This installation involved removal of the 100 m2 ceiling drilling holes for the fibre optics and inserting them then have to refit the ceiling and follow through to ensure each fibre was at the correct height. Once that work was completed we than had to dress the fibres with approx 3500 crystal balls measure the gaps between each ball and also to ensure that no 2 strands were touching. The desired effect was to create a wave form crystal ceiling that also showed starry night sky.
