The layout of lots of Type 1 Flush fixings prior to cladding

Button-fix Case Study

Craig Farman of Apex Designs says: we used in the region of 8000 fixings over the whole project which included wall cladding, reception desk, stair well, soffits and light boxes.

The most interesting part of the project was the wall cladding in the stairwell and the reception feature wall and ceiling. The brief from the architect was to clad the walls in 75mm slats with a 10mm shadow gap between each slat. The key to the setting out was the stair riser as we had to ensure that two slats would fit on each riser with 10mm gaps.
Overall we have estimated that doing it this way saved us about 300 man hours of work by not having to measure on site for every slat. The button fix works well in this type of situation as we can accurately position them through the use of the 3D models and CNC machines.
