We target value chains within digital first businesses, and work with our partners and clients to decarbonise them. GoCodeGreen has already worked with 20 companies across 30 of their digital products and identified 53% carbon reduction opportunities in Build, and 26% carbon reduction opportunities in Operate.

What does this mean in real terms? If all the actions identified had been taken for those 30 products alone, it would have resulted in 10,000 tonnes of CO2e not emitted. 30 million kWh of energy not being consumed. 13,000 tonnes of coal left in the ground. We cannot ignore the environmental impact of taking action.

We also calculated the electricity savings resulting from the build related actions we identified - coming to the equivalent of just under 20 million kWh of energy saved. Using 2021 UK electricity pricing, we estimated this to be c. £3.75m of savings.
