Benefit of using real-time credentials for regulatory bodies
The South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) was experiencing a loss of revenue due to certification fraud, specifically the misrepresentation of registration with the SACPCMP.
They approached PrivySeal and securely published their registration certificates, together with linked seals (micro-credentials), on the PrivySeal platform.
The SACPCMP used PrivySeal's API to push their certificate data and any changes to it in real-time. As a result seals and certificates were issued, revoked and re-issued automatically and would disappear and no longer be displayed if the registered person was no longer compliant or in good standing with the Council.
The results were significant as revenue increased by 103% (mainly as a result of licensees having to pay outstanding fees and get their CPD status in order), a n initial increase of 19% in registrations and the complete elimination of certificate fraud.
