Filtration of Produced Water
Our client is an international independent Exploration and Production (E&P) company, with a focus on the North Sea, North Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
Produced water is an unavoidable by-product of oil and gas production and treatment is now more important than ever due to increasing environmental legislation. The current Oil Spill Prevention, Administration and Response (OSPAR) limit is 30 ppm of oil in water returned to sea.
On this occasion, the produced water was in excess of this limit and had the potential to damage the environment, impact our client's reputation and ultimately lead to prosecution.
We supplied and installed our proprietary SepSORBĀ® filtration system.
Hydrocarbon content in the produced water was consistently and permanently reduced to below 30 ppm. Typically the level was no more than 5 ppm.
