The Depot Protection System consisted of the following elements:
New Bespoke Paintshop Facility including internal movement control with Safety Lightcurtains interlocked to Electric Shunter Brakes via Wifi Interface.6 road Maintenance Shed DPS SystemNew Abellio Shed Door Control System for new control facilityMainline NWR Interfaces
The RFID Based DPS system logs operators onto and off of the roads and zones. When the DPS system knows the location of where the operators are working (by logging on), the DPS shall not allow any train movements into that road or zone. This ensures the protection of both the workforce and the Depot.The existing Beacons and Sounders were integrated in the Cleaning and Repair roads to assist in providing a financially beneficial solution for the project. This demonstrates the flexibility on a FirstClass solution.The Bombardier / Abellio Ilford Depot remained operational throughout the upgrade work and our Depot Protection System is performing brilliantly
