DIAN is National Tax and Customs Office of Colombia
The information received by DIAN contains all the behavior and financial movements of all Colombians, both people and companies, residents of the country and abroad. With this information it is possible to determine whether these people are fulfilling their tax duties.
The problem is that this information has a huge volume (hundreds of millions of records daily), it comes in a multitude of different formats which makes it very difficult to consolidate all the data around each taxpayer so that the entity can be effective in reducing evasion, avoidance and smuggling.
DIAN receives information from more than 120 different sources, including data sent by other entities or governments through exchange agreements, and those that are required to share all Colombian companies.
Currently, the processing, validation and consolidation of all this information is done through automated flows in the Dexon software.
