LUMSDEN DESIGN LIMITED

The MoMA Design Store has been located directly opposite the Museum of Modern Art for 18 years and has been highly acclaimed for its selection of art and design related products by a wide range of customers. The brief required the design to revive the store's appeal to its core audience as well as to the MoMA visitor from across the road and to display a more refined approach to the merchandising of its product range.

A feature of the concept was to open up the windows to increase natural light and the visibility of new design elements amid better circulation and curated product. The new space enables the MoMA team to focus on hero products with a feature wall highlighting new products on an ongoing basis.

The renovation increases the natural light highlighting several custom design elements. Products from kitchen, lighting, tech and personal accessories are showcased in a bespoke merchandising system and an iPad-based sales system allows for a personalised shopping experience.
