We acted for a US-based real estate investment company that looked to set up a UK-based subsidiary for the purpose of expansion into the UK, in order to replicate their successful overseas investment advisory model. The company has so far invested $9 billion in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Japan. The company looked to send a senior individual from its overseas parent company to the UK. Fragomen advised on the available immigration options to bring over the individual and established viability and suitability of the company to apply for a UK Expansion Worker sponsor licence. As the intention was for the individual to remain in the UK for a longer period than the UK Expansion Worker route allows, we also provided advice as to the viability to convert the licence into a Skilled Worker licence.
