Lean Business Optimisation in the Public Sector (Healthcare)
One of the outputs from the work is a detailed report showing the opportunities for non value add process removal.
At Penn Engineered Solutions we have completed Lean Business Optimisations for non clinical work processes within the UK National Health Service. We utilised Value Stream Mapping and used elements of Six Sigma process methodologies looking for non value added waste and proposing alternate ways of working. We looked at visual management techniques and offered opportunities for improvement. Likewise we evaluated Standard Operating Procedures and suggested ways to ensure staff followed these and became engaged in owning their work area processes and procedures. The approach we used is transferable to many other business operations in both the public and private sector.
