The course delivers fundamental underpinning knowledge alongside organisation specifics. It provides delegates with an understanding of how new functions and associated operating practices will require greater collaboration between operators, and the role of the system as a key agent within this team.

The scheme provides operators with a level of knowledge that will help inform the development of procedures; new systems of work being adopted based on an understanding of the underlying principles of uncrewed operations rather than being informed by existing operating concepts. As the requirement for underpinning knowledge changes, and the operating landscape, vessel size and complexity evolve, the scheme will adapt to accommodate these changes.

The initial period of instructor led training is supported by a digital training record book and digital operator logbook held within the Global Maritime Portal.
