Bespoke Plug & Socket
Bespoke designed and manufactured electrical connector for railway busbar installation.
Total Connections was approached by a market-leading supplier to the UK rail network to bespoke manufacture a connector made up of 60 individual components. The spring-loaded plug and socket was designed to be capable of carrying up to 2000A.
It required electrical temperature rise testing and mechanical contact force testing, the latter of which was performed in-house on our mechanical pull-testing machine.
The product was the latest in a series of bespoke design and manufacture projects for major companies from the UK and across the world. It compliments the busbar, terminal and earthing product manufacturing projects that have been supplied to a wide range of sectors.
