17m Tug pulls its weight in New Zealand

'Marsden Bay' - a 17m Harbour Tug for New Zealand
In 2013 Macduff Ship Design signed a contract to produce a design for a 17m Harbour Tug for North Tugz, a towage company based in New Zealand. The vessel was designed to BV class but also built to conform to the stability regulations of Maritime New Zealand. Operating with a crew of two but also with overnight accommodation, this highly versatile vessel can carry out towing, pushing, surveying and lifting operations. The vessel, boasting an impressive 28 tonne bollard pull, is more than capable in her class of small harbour tugs. Macduff Ship Design delivered full structural and outfitting drawings, as well as stability information for the vessel. MSD is a company that specialises in providing bespoke, carefully tailored designs to suit owner requirements. The 17m harbour tug, ‘Marsden Bay’, is just one example of our ability to deliver these requirements and work with clients across the globe.
