Environmental Data Sharing in NSW – a first for Australia

Informed Solutions worked closely with the project sponsors and key stakeholders, including farmers, advocacy groups, academics, agency representatives, industry representatives and consultants.

15 User Requirement Workshops were conducted to identify user expectations and 168 User Stories were developed to capture user requirements in the Discovery stage.

In all, 1,200+ datasets were inventoried, 9 government portals and 18 Technologies were assessed against 50 evaluation criteria and 80 priority data sources were made available to be interactively analysed, queried, and visualised with on-line tools at launch. 9 government agencies worked collaboratively for the first time to provide this diversity and breadth of datasets.

12 of the data sources can be accessed by the public for the first time thanks to the portal and 100% of organisations and citizens can freely access all portal data anywhere, anytime via this 100% Cloud-based, elastic and highly-resilient service.
