Remote Medical Support in Mali

Client mine site at Yanfolila in Mali during development.
CCI to undertook a healthcare risk assessment and review of client policies and plans, local healthcare facilities and regional hospitals to evaluate how the healthcare risks could be mitigated. CCI selected and deployed two UK physicians experienced in remote medicine to implement the recommendations within the review and to manage primary and emergency healthcare for all client employees and contracted staff on site. CCI also designed the new clinic, developed medical emergency response plans (MERP’s) as well as delivering onsite health promotion, occupational health and first aid training.
Outcome: The provision of sophisticated and autonomous healthcare system has enabled the client to fulfill its duty of care to its personnel as well as being able to reduce spend significantly. The client has also been able to achieve efficiencies such as better onsite diagnosis and treatment, reduced numbers of unnecessary referrals, evacuations and reduced worker absenteeism.
