Magnetic ROV - Wind Turbine Inspection

Magnetic ROV capable of attaching and manoeuvring across the height and circumference of a wind turbine tower structure.
The capability of ATAM Group’s ROV to access and manoeuvre within the internal structure of a wind turbine blade of 46m length was demonstrated successfully, without the requirement for personnel entry into the confined space. The operator captured high quality visual inspection data in low light conditions, providing inspection data to areas not possible for personnel to access due to size restrictions. This proved the feasibility of carrying out internal blade inspections via the use of their ROV platform.
ATAM Group also demonstrated a Magnetic ROV capable of attaching and manoeuvring across the height and circumference of a wind turbine tower structure internally and externally. Test data was captured of the tower structure itself and of the adjacent building (approximately 14m away). This proved the feasibility of using their platform for inspection of the tower structure and wind turbine blade from the tower, giving high resolution and high clarity visual inspection.
