Partnership with AKMI Metropolitan College in Greece

AKMI Metropolitan College is one of the largest private education providers in Greece, offering post-secondary education at both IVT (diploma) level and degree level. Our partnership dates back to the year 2001, when the first programme (speech therapy) started.

There were many challenges at the beginning – working out the best delivery model, dealing with professional bodies, and getting used to each other’s ways of working. Like many overseas partners, AMC staff needed time and support to help them to understand the expectations of UK higher education, both in terms of assessment strategies and quality procedures. By investing in staff development and building relationships, QMU was able to help AMC to develop their HE capacity and expand gradually to new programmes. AMC now delivers 14 QMU programmes at 3 campuses across Greece and has built a reputation as a high quality institution. Regular communication at all levels remains the key to ongoing success.
