Canada - Whitehorse Operations Building Expansion

Description

The City of Whitehorse (the “City”) is undertaking the design and construction of a new 16,000 square foot office addition to the City’s existing Whitehorse Operations Building, located at 187 Range Road, Whitehorse, Yukon (the “Project”). The City is using a “Progressive Design-Build” delivery model for the Project. Under this structure, the City seeks to enter into a preliminary services contract between the City and the Successful Proponent. If this preliminary stage (the “Validation Phase” or “Phase 1”) is successful, the City then intends to enter into a subsequent stage (the “Design-Build Phase” or “Phase 2”) whereby the City and the Design-Builder would enter into a design-build contract to design and construct the Project using a CCDC 14 form design-build contract, modified to introduce a cost-plus payment structure up to a guaranteed maximum price. The City anticipates the completion of the project on or before December 2025.
