Description

WEV Warendorfer Energieversorgung GmbH is planning to implement a sustainable district heating network in Warendorf. It is the task of WEV Warendorfer Energieversorgung GmbH to actively initiate the energy transition in Warendorf with the use of renewable energies and to implement it locally. The plan is to supply the approx. 38,000 inhabitants, who are currently supplied via a dense gas network, with climate-neutral heat in future. The central component will be a heat generation plant with river water heat pumps on the River Ems. From this plant, a heating network with several heat sources can be built for the city area, initially in the historic old town. In the final stage, the majority of the useful heat requirement of the entire town of Warendorf could be covered by river heat. The district heating network under consideration in this process is to be built separately from the heating network with river heat pumps south of the Ems. The heating network is to be seen as an independent project and will be planned and constructed accordingly. The operation of the northern district heating network is planned to be self-sufficient.
