Description

The Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways (MAUR) received a loan from the Project Preparation and Start-up Support Facility and an allocation from the City’s budget for the FEED preparation and implementation support for the construction of line 5, stage 1 (Bay Hien Crossroad – Saigon Bridge) and therefore, is calling for international bidders to express an interest in the project.

Note on background: Ho Chi Minh City is developing a 6 line network. Construction has started on line 1, with line 2 beginning shortly, line 5 is the next to be built. Due to their scale, some lines are split into stages including line 5. Line 5, stage 1 (Bay Hien Crossroad to Saigon Bridge is 8.9 km in which 7.9 km is underground and 1 km elevated with 9 stations. Total investment: EUR1.5 bn from Spain (ODA), ADB, EIB, KfW.
