Sri Lanka - UK university partner to establish an international branch campus

Description

A local education provider wants to partner with a UK university to establish an international branch campus.

The local partner will be responsible for:

• infrastructure and facilities
• administration
• marketing
• student recruitment

The UK university will be responsible for:

• providing the programs
• supporting academic provision

They intend to begin the first intake in January 2026.

Students would be recruited from Sri Lanka, as well as from neighboring countries including Maldives, Bangladesh and Nepal.

In the long term the partner wants to establish campuses in other key cities in Sri Lanka including Kandy and Galle, as well as an offshore campus in Bangladesh.

They plan to roll-out the programmes for the branch campus in Colombo in stages as follows:

Year 1:

• bachelor of business (majors in business analytics, marketing, entrepreneurship)
• bachelor of computing (IT) (majors in cyber security and data analytics/big data)
• postgraduate degrees
• master of business administration (MBA)

Year 2:

• bachelor of business (majors in finance, accounting and international business
• bachelor of computing (IT) (majors in artificial intelligence)
• postgraduate degree in marketing

Year 3:

• engineering
• hospitality and tourism
• law

The projected student numbers are:

• Year 1: 100
• Year 2: 150
• Year 3: 250
• Year 4: 300
• Year 5: 500 or more
