Description

The municipality of Alfter has decided to build a new school building to expand the grammar school in Alfter-Oedekoven (Am Rathaus 11) and is inviting tenders for the planning services required for this by means of a restricted design competition in accordance with the guidelines for design competitions (RPW 2013) with a subsequent VgV negotiation procedure. The subject of the RPW competition is the design of a new building for a four-stream grammar school, incorporating the existing building and the sports hall, as well as the associated planning of the outdoor facilities.
The required educational floor space amounts to a total of approx. 7,400 square meters. Of this, 4,777 sqm must be created in the new extension building. The remaining space and area requirements will be accommodated in the existing building. Interim solutions may be required to maintain school operations.
Alfter Grammar School began operating in the existing building of the former secondary school in the 2023\/24 school year. However, the limited space available in the existing building makes it necessary to put the new extension building into operation by the start of the 2027\/28 school year at the latest.
