With this project, the German Centre for Rail Transport Research (DZSF) at the Federal Railway Authority (EBA) is pursuing the goal of recording commuting behavior in Germany and determining the commuting costs for commuters. Among other things, a distinction is to be made between different distances and forms of mobility (car only, public transport only, combination of different forms of mobility). In addition, a special focus will be placed on the change in commuting behavior and commuting costs due to the introduction of the Deutschlandticket. Empirical findings on commuting behavior and commuting costs are thus to be obtained as part of the project.
