Description

The existing community center in Klimmach is to be used more for social interaction in Klimmach in the future. Due to the current structural and technical condition of the building, its use is not possible or only possible with high energy costs and organizational effort. For this reason, energy-efficient refurbishment and barrier-free accessibility are planned.
The two-storey building has no basement and is a solid brick masonry construction. The ground floor houses the hall (currently 86 m²), the kitchen and the WC facilities, which are also accessible from the attached fire station. The staircase to the upper floor is made of reinforced concrete. There is a shooting range and a recreation room on the upper floor.
The original year of construction is not known. It is assumed that it was built between 1900 and 1930. According to the building application from 1984, the teacher's apartment, which had been in the building until then, was converted into a community center and the entire floor on the ground floor was renewed. The existing windows probably date from this measure. In 1997, the addition of a fire station, consisting of a garage room as a cold room, to the building was approved and realized.
The ceiling above the ground floor and first floor is a wooden ceiling. The supporting structure of the roof is a purlin roof truss with plain tile double covering as roof cladding. The load-bearing capacity of the roof structure and ceiling must be checked.

As part of the project, not only the building envelope but also the plant technology is to be renewed. In addition, a passenger elevator is to be installed from the ground floor to the first floor, although the location and type of elevator has not yet been determined. The existing kitchen is also to be renovated. Conversion into a meeting place is ruled out. The extent to which the fire station building is to be included in the refurbishment has not yet been determined. It is likely that a changing room and a shower will be needed for the fire department.

EU ERDF funding was applied for and approved for this measure. The funding application is to be prepared in the course of LPH 3 of the planning.

The building is currently kept frost-free with decentralized daytime storage heaters (at approx. 10 °C). During events, the existing wood-burning stove is also stoked in order to maintain a comfortable room temperature. This type of heating is very inconvenient for the public building and requires a corresponding lead time, meaning that the building is only used a few days a year (approx. 3 to 5 events). Only around 750 kWh of the 10 kWp PV system installed in 2018 can be used for the building's own electricity consumption. The rest of the electricity generated is fed into the public grid. As part of the planning process, it should be checked whether a larger proportion of the electricity generated can be used to operate the building from an economic point of view.

The proof of use must be available by the end of 2027, meaning that the construction work must be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
Expenditure incurred after the approval period at the end of the 2027 funding period cannot be included in the funding.
