The Albert Schweizer Primary School in Treuenbrietzen requires additional space to ensure all-day care due to the increasing number of pupils. For the all-day care of a. 330 - 350 children, a new building with a usable area of approx. 1,500 m² is to be constructed on the site of the Albert Schweizer Primary School. With an inner hall as an assembly hall and the other usable rooms on four sides as group and work rooms. The inner hall has two storeys and an open gallery on the upper floor, with the entrance to the planned building on the east side of the elementary school playground. The main access to the interior is also via the two-storey hall and the centrally located single-flight staircase to the gallery on the upper floor. This main access also forms the 1st escape route. An elevator provides barrier-free access to the upper floor. Two further enclosed stairwells form the second escape route with a direct exit to the outside. 9 group rooms and 2 function rooms are arranged around the upper floor and accessed via the gallery. The reading areas with checkrooms are designed as spacious, open niches in the gallery. On the first floor, the interior hall is the central circulation area and assembly hall. The auditorium is designed for a maximum of 200 people. A stage is located in an alcove between the elevator and the workroom. The administration and teachers' rooms are accessed from the hall via a small corridor. The school club with canteen faces north and is connected to the hall via generous glazing. A terrace to the north makes it possible to spend time outdoors in summer. The adjoining kitchen is also to be used for school cooking, with direct access from outside via the terrace. The general function rooms (workshops, games, media) are accessed directly via the hall. The utility rooms (HVAC and electrical) and the janitor's office are located to the north, directly next to the sanitary facilities. These sanitary facilities are accessible on both floors via a separate corridor on an escape staircase. The storage area is located opposite the kitchen, in the immediate vicinity of the school club.
