Description
Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board intend appointing a single supplier to purpose build and supply a Smart Factory Training System for the provision of training courses in Waterford Training Centre. This will involve providing equipment and software to ultimately deliver a Smart Factory Training System to Industry 4.0 to facilitate automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies and processes. The initial training components are identified within the tender. As part of the tender we would ask suppliers to cost the modules on an individual basis to enable flexibility for the procurement of the modules. Our intention over time is to expand the training rig to meet industry demands and our training requirements subject to budget availability.
The system will provide technical training which corresponds with the reality in production, assembly, logistics and management processes in Industry 4.0.
Made up of an M2M (Machine to Machine) connected system with management software, the training equipment will emulate a highly automated intelligent factory including the technologies connected with Industry 4.0, advanced manufacturing concepts and the reality of the connected company.
The equipment must be durable, robust, high quality and suited to student factory setting workshop/training environment for students learning practical skills.
