Description

ThreeD Ltd is a non-for-profit designated activity company (DAC) and wholly owned subsidiary of Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT). It is a designated design, development and dissemination facility for 3D Additive manufacturing (AM) and is based within WIT. ThreeD imparts knowledge and provides training to both industry personnel and students of Irish academic Institutions, it also works to develop standards for AM. 3DWIT provides product/prototype development services for all manufacturing sectors throughout the country. 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a strategic priority and supports the action plan for jobs in the South East. ThreeD DAC require equipment capable of analysing the surface finish and contours of components produced by a variety of 3D printing processes (including both Metallic and Polymer materials). SEAM is currently working with metal additive manufacturing systems that utilises a wide range of powders, including Stainless Steel, Titanium and Aluminium.
