The clinic was supplemented in the 1950s by the lecture hall and in the 1960s by the east-facing hillside wing (component B5), which was extended in the basement area almost to the property boundary with a flat building (component B6).At the south end, a staircase was built at component B2 in the 1990s, which is currently also used to organize the women's clinic's patient access. In 2015, fire safety upgrades were already carried out in some areas, but further fire safety upgrades will be required for most areas of the Women's Hospital as part of the subsequent use of the building. in addition to the technical deficiencies, extensive conversion / renovation and upgrading measures will also be required in the structural area to realize the planned subsequent use of the buildings.An updated fire protection assessment of the building complex is now also available in the form of a fire protection concept, which shows the deficits in the area of fire protection.External walls / internal walls (vertical building structures)In principle, the room structures of the bed areas in the wing and the other areas of the women's clinic are essentially taken over. When planning the floor plan, a key approach was to keep structural interventions to a minimum and to retain the existing room structures wherever possible, taking into account the new use in the relevant sub-areas.Windows and French doors are already installed in the main areas of the women's clinic, which are apparently in order (only replacement/adjustment of existing worn-out wooden windows, e.g. in the basement BT 5+6 and some windows with ornamental glazing, is required). In addition, the main external windows are already equipped with external venetian blinds, so that external shading is already guaranteed.The internal doors of the women's clinic do not have a uniform concept; different door frames and door leaves are installed within individual wards and even within individual rooms (e.g. wards in the existing building section 5). In addition, many of the doors open into the necessary corridor areas, so that the direction of opening must be adjusted here in order not to impair the escape routes. Parts of the door leaves are also damaged. (chipping of the laminate, broken corners, etc.) The interior doors must therefore be replaced / dismantled / replaced in parts. In addition, according to the fire protection concept, additional fire and smoke protection doors are required for the fire protection refurbishment; existing fire protection doors do not meet the requirements and must be partially replaced.The existing wall protection system in some areas is only slightly high and needs to be adapted/replaced (including new height levels required due to height-adjustable beds).According to the inventory, the wall coverings (also in the bed room areas) are damaged (repulsions/ missing areas/missing holes). The wall coverings make a poor overall impression in most areas. Since fiberglass fabric cannot be applied selectively, it is planned to reface the wall surfaces in the corresponding rooms.
