Description

Subject of the procurement Automatic polarimeter with internal tubing, tubing set, flow display and temperature-controllable polarimeter tube (glass inside) with chemically inert temperature sensor. The procurement project aims to provide modern polarimeters for teaching. With a well-founded scientific education, also on modern equipment, the future graduates will be able to develop new and innovative materials, processes, etc. in their professional life and make them accessible to society.Polarimeters measure the change in the plane of linearly polarized light (optical rotation, rotational value) when passing through an optically active medium. For the intended application, the measuring range must be ± 90 °with at least a resolution of 0.01 ° and an accuracy of ± 0.01 °. The polarimeters are used, for example, to investigate the kinetics of a chemical reaction (inversion of cane sugar), which is why the measurement time for a measured value in the measurement range of ± 90 ° should be very short (< 2 s). The light source shall be an LED emitting at 589 nm with a typical lifetime of 100 000 hours. The sample chamber shall be dimensioned to allow measurements with polarimeter tubes with 20 cm light path. Temperature constancy is of immense importance for the measurements, therefore the procurement project shall also include polarimeter tubes that can be externally temperature controlled. The polarimeter tubes must allow a light path through the sample of 20 cm. To ensure sufficient chemical stability (e.g. against hydrochloric acid), the polarimeter tubes must be made of glass on the inside and must be stably secured against breakage on the outside. It must be possible to determine the actual sample temperature directly in the polarimeter tube using a suitable, chemically inert temperature sensor and this must be indicated on the instrument display. Temperatures from 0 °C to 99 °C with a measurement resolution of 0.1 °C and a measurement accuracy of ± 0.2 °C should be possible. The measuring tube must be easily removable from the sample chamber for filling or cleaning and must be reinsertable into the sample chamber after filling, preferably through a funnel-shaped opening. Quick-release fasteners must be used to connect and disconnect the tube to the temperature control liquid circuit. For cleaning the polarimeter tube, the interior of the tube must also be accessible via its side ends. The polarimeters must have all the necessary connections to be able to connect them to existing circulators (water) for the purpose of sample temperature control. The menu navigation of the measuring instrument should be kept simple and be available in German and English.A suitable interface to be able to send data for further processing is to be considered favorable. This publication is a negotiated award with a public call for tenders. The documents required for participation as well as the applicable conditions are deposited in the project room on the Brandenburg public procurement marketplace. After expiry of the participation period, all companies that have submitted a request to participate and are suitable will receive a separate invitation to submit a bid. No bid is yet required in the current phase of the procedure.
