Description
KfW is modernizing its IT application landscape and is focusing on application architectures with loose coupling of application components. API services are being used to an increasing extent.
Cross-cutting functions, especially security-critical ones such as authentication and authorization, are not implemented individually in the individual services in this application architecture, but centrally. The contractor must therefore supply an API gateway that serves as a central platform for internal API services.
The API gateway must receive client calls centrally and forward them to the corresponding internal services. Clients (service consumers) are located either in KfW's own data centers or in private areas with external cloud providers.
KfW operates a private Kubernetes-based cloud in its own data center. Red Hat OpenShift is used as the platform. The API gateway will be operated cloud-native in this OpenShift platform and must be suitable for this.
