Description
The Energy System Integration department at DLR's Institute of Technical Thermodynamics conducts research on electrolysers and their individual components, among other things. Impedance spectroscopic measurements are used to analyze mass transfer, electrochemical and electrical behavior of electrolysis stacks. Electrolysis stacks with an electrode area of up to 2500 cm² at a current density of up to 0.8 A/cm² in stacks with a power of up to 50 kW will be investigated in various test stands. This will enable measurements, which have so far been carried out mainly on a laboratory scale, to be made on stacks of industrial size. The results of the measurements will be used to analyze the effects of operating strategies and process parameters on the stack performance and the mechanisms influencing it.
