This is a market survey to locate potential sources that can manufacture or supply AM-7189A/ARC Tactical VHF Power Amplifiers, in support of future sustainment efforts. Previous market research history indicates that the item was previously and is currently manufactured by Rockwell Collins, Inc. (CAGE 13499) under part number 622-6545-003.
The AM-7189A/ARC is a power amplifying accessory used with VHF-FM radios designed to operate in helicopters flying nap-of-the-Earth (NOE) flight envelopes. The AM-7189/ARC amplifies signals from a standard VHF-FM radio (AN/ARC-114, AN/ARC-54, ANARC-186, AN/ARC-201) in a frequency range from 30 MHz to 88 MHz to an effective radiating power of 5 watts(low), 15 watts (normal) or 50 watts (high). When the NOE-IFM subsystem is turned off, a bypass mode is initiated which allows the VHF-FM radio to function normally.
Contractors capable of manufacturing or supplying this item should indicate, by writing to PM Aviation Mission Equipment (AME) Branch, ATTN: SFAE-AV-AS-AME (Brian Creswick), 6007 Combat Drive, F3-140-138, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005. Written responses may also be emailed to brian.m.creswick.civ@mail.mil. No telephone response will be accepted. Responses should be received by 15 May 2019.
