Description

Procurement of contractor to undertake coastal protection works consisting of but not limited to the implementation of approximately 300 metres of protective revetment in Annotto Bay (site 5) St. Mary.

Intended purpose
The revetment and groynes are designed to attenuate wave energy and prevent wave breaking on the shoreline and any resulting scour or erosion of the roadways which are critical pathways for the communities.

The works to be carried out under this contract are part of the North Eastern Coastal Resilience Building Project being executed by the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) as the Implementing Agency for the Government of Jamaica (GOJ) / Adaptation Fund Programme.

You will need to supply construction and engineering services for shoreline protection works. These include, but are not limited to:

- excavation of existing material to required grade and laying of geotextile in preparation for
armour stone structure
- construction of revetments with armour stone boulders in specified locations
- construction of groyne structures with armour stone boulders in specified locations
- placement of appropriate material to backfill between structure location and existing grade
