Description

The state capital Mainz is planning the redesign of the Rhine embankment section between the Rhine embankment underground car park and the customs port as the 2nd construction phase. The subject of the contract are the necessary architectural services in accordance with HOAI 2021 work phases 1 to 4, as well as subject to the financial and funding approvals a follow-up commission of the work phases 5 to 9.
The redesign of the above-mentioned section of the Rhine embankment is to be developed on the basis of the Rhine embankment framework plan of May 2000 and the design plan adopted by the building committee in 2003 (which has already been implemented in the section of the Rhine embankment underground car park).The main planning objectives are the creation of additional, usable green spaces for neighborhood and district-related local recreation with corresponding open space facilities and barrier-free footpath and cycle path connections parallel to the Rhine. Historical elements such as the historic city gates, ramps, walls, stairs, etc. are to be appropriately integrated and the historical design principles are to be taken into account. Existing plans (e.g. environment of the Caponniere at Feldbergplatz) are to be integrated.
