The Flight Physiology Training Centre, a site of the Air Force's Centre for Aerospace Medicine, is located on the Bundeswehr property in Königsbrück. The training centre is used for the aeronautical and space physiological preparation and training of flying crews of the Bundeswehr and pilots of other nations. It is used annually by about 2,000 course participants. In addition, research projects in aerospace medicine are carried out. As part of a major construction project, the state-owned company Sächsisches Immobilien- und Baumanagement is planning the comprehensive renovation of the accommodation and classroom building in accordance with the regulations for listed buildings. The building consists of 2 formerly separate two-storey building sections from the 1930's and a middle four-storey connector building from the 1950's. The renovation is necessary due to the achieved life span of various components as well as necessary extensive renovation work on the roof and in the basement. Accommodation must be adapted to the current accommodation standard of the Bundeswehr. The total construction costs (without KG 700) are estimated to be around EUR 9.1 million gross. The share for KG 300 amounts to approx. EUR 5.3 million and the share for KG 400 to approx.
