Description

A scanning electron microscope is being put out to tender which enables the micro-testing of materials and miniature specimens at high temperatures up to 1 400oC under high vacuum and partial vacuum. The Institute for Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines of the German Aerospace Center intends to procure a scanning electron microscope and a tensile/compression microtest module for operation with light and scanning electron microscopes with the following specifications. Requirements to be met by the scanning electron microscope at the Augsburg site:- device with field emission cathode and modern ion optical column, - low vacuum and/or ESEM mode, maximum chamber pressure not less than 500 Pa,- minimum resolution of the electron optics in high vacuum: 1 nm at 30 keV, - minimum resolution of the electron optics in high vacuum: 3 nm at 1 keV, - oil-free vacuum system, - heating module for in-situ investigations up to 1 400oC in ESEM mode, - high vacuum detectors: SE, backscatter electron detector (retractable, segmented), - low vacuum detectors: SE detector, backscatter electron detector, - in-lens or in-column SE detector, - EDX detector: retractable, SDD type (min. 50 mm2 detector area), can be used at 0o and at 70o sample tilting at sample temperatures from room temperature up to 800oC (IR protective cap for detector permitted), - EBSD detector: counting rate>3 000 ipps, retractable, can be used at sample temperatures from room temperature up to at least 1 000oC, - integration of EDX and EBSD in the same control and application software, - application software, - integrated plasma cleaner, - circulating cooler, - active vibration compensation, incl. Installation, - Magnetic field compensation (aluminium profile frame), incl. installation, - On-site installation, - Training to an appropriate extent for the ESEM and the EDS/EBSD detectors. Requirements for the tensile/compression module for the Augsburg site: - Tensile/compression module for compression and tensile tests on metallic and fibre-reinforced ceramic miniature specimens, - Maximum load 10 kN (measurement resolution < 0.1 N). Smaller loads (approx. 50 N, 200 N, 500 N and 2000 N) must be covered with good accuracy (≤0.2 % of the respective load) (e.g. by inherent design, changeable load cells or other solutions to be specified in the offer), - Sample heating: min. Pre-equipped for use in a scanning electron microscope, measurements in normal geometry (90o to the electron beam) and with EBSD (20o to the electron beam) from room temperature to 1 200oC, - Control module, with software and displacement transducer, - Both force- and displacement-controlled control of the traction process possible, - Automatic operating modes (cyclic tests, swelling or swelling tests, etc.) Extensometer, - Interface for automatic image acquisition, - Availability of measurement curves at least as graphics and ascii format, e.g. *.csv or similar,- The module may occupy a maximum of one port of the scanning electron microscope during SEM operation,- Optional: 3-point bending insert, 4-point bending insert.
