Description
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Saskatchewan Power Corporation (“SaskPower”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Rural Cable Testing , as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “ Work”).
SaskPower is a Saskatchewan Crown Corporation continued under The Power Corporation Act (Saskatchewan). It is principally responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for most of Saskatchewan.
Approximately 56,000 km of SaskPower’s medium voltage primary underground cable is in rural areas also known as rural underground distribution (“RUD”) cable, typically constructed as large loop systems in the mid 1980’s to mid 1990’s using #2AlXLPE unjacketed cable with bare concentric neutral. To address various issues with these cables, SaskPower has undertaken RUD cable testing. This RFP is an invitation for testing specific identified RUD cable segments to determine any issues/health/expected life, etc.
