Description

The Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF) Project will provide facilities to enable a world-class program in neutrino physics that can measure fundamental physical parameters, explore physics beyond the Standard Model and better elucidate the nature of matter and anti-matter. Specifically, LBNF will build a new high-intensity neutrino beam at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), the “Near Site,” aimed at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF), 1,300 km away at the “Far Site,” where a neutrino detector will be built; also known as DUNE (Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment). The experiment will be optimized for precision measurement of neutrino oscillations with the goal of searching for charge parity-violation in the neutrino sector, as well as making other precision oscillation measurements.

SURF is owned and operated by the South Dakota Science and Technology Authority (SDSTA).

The LBNF Project will require office space in the Ross Dry for Fermi Research Alliance (FRA) staff for the LBNF project as defined in the attached Request for Proposals (RFP). The proposed office space will be constructed via a design-build contract.
The office remodeling will require modifying approximately 2600 square-feet of area within the existing Ross Dry building. Provide necessary design drawings prepared and stamped by a South Dakota registered professional engineer to gain permits required for the scope of work within the existing Ross Dry building. Subcontractor to provide all necessary tools, equipment, and materials, labor and supervision to perform the office remodeling. - Stamped drawings as required by local codes - Demolition and removal of debris
- Electrical upgrades and circuit retrofitting - HVAC system installation and upgrades
- Self leveling floor prep. and application - Plumbing as needed
- Interior door and hardware installation - Carpet tile substrate prep. and installation
- Window retrofitting - Drywall installation and finishing
- Painting, staining, and finishing
- Data pathways provided, network infrastructure by others
Subcontractor shall provide design-build services including cost-saving alternatives. Alternate products proposed must be supported by recognized industry standard documents and/or data.
Subcontractor shall provide design-build services to provide the office buildout at the agreed-upon schedule of values presented in the Subcontract. Required subcontractors (second tier) to the design-build Subcontractor must be listed and approved by FRA as a part of the response to this Scope of Work.
