Description

The DAI intends to retro-digitise publications (including monographs, serials and journals) which are held in the holdings of the DAI libraries. As this is a large inventory, the pilot project to be awarded here will initially involve retro-digitising a small but representative part of the inventory in order to test the internal processes, logistics, data management etc.
Following this pilot project, it is planned to have the more extensive inventory retro-digitised. This subsequent contract does not form part of this award procedure, but will be put out to tender in a separate award procedure. The bid which wins the pilot project is not automatically the contractor for the contract subsequently tendered.
Approximately 550 books from publication series or journal volumes of the DAI (both hereinafter referred to as "volumes") with a total volume of approximately 164,000 pages are to be professionally packed in accordance with the specifications of the specifications from the three Berlin libraries of the DAI Head Office, transported to the premises, where the preparation, execution and post-processing of the scan is carried out, and the volumes and digitised copies are transported back to the libraries. Details can be found in the service description.
