ProRail and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate are challenging entrepreneurs to develop new products to prevent people from getting off the platform onto the tracks. the issue we are challenging you on is: how can we keep this platform edge, this interface between platform and train, as safe as possible so that this space can be kept free despite increasing traffic1. passengers can keep this space free;2. trains can depart on time;3. safety is optimally guaranteed. The innovation thus makes crowd control on platforms superfluous and also contributes to suicide prevention by preventing people from entering the tracks.
The client has made a total budget of up to EUR 240,000 (including VAT) available for phase 1 of this SBIR. The maximum amount per feasibility study (phase 1) is EUR 30 000 (including VAT). For SBIR phase 2 (phases 2a and 2b) a maximum of EUR 540 000 (including VAT) is available, the maximum amount per project is EUR 180 000 (including VAT). The exact number of projects to be awarded for phase 1 and phase 2 partly depends on the project plan and the amount of the budget of the best evaluated bids for phases 1 and 2. The maximum contribution per project is based on the principle that the parties themselves are prepared to invest in the idea.
