Description

The Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC), has been developed by the Australian Health Services Research Institute (AHSRI) at the University of Wollongong, in consultation with clinical experts in health and aged care as a replacement aged care classification tool.
The Australian Government has currently contracted six Assessment Management Organisations (AMO’s) to undertake ‘shadow Assessments’, from 6 April 2021 to 30 September 2022. During this period all residents in aged care will be assessed by an external Assessor using the AN-ACC Assessment Tool and placed in an AN-ACC funding class.  This will enable the AN-ACC model to become the payment method for residential aged care from 1 October 2022.  A tender process is currently underway to engage this workforce for a further nine months from 1 October 2022 to 30 June 2023.
Trained Assessors (comprised of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Registered Nurses) are employed by each of these contracted Assessment Management Organisations, to use the AN ACC Assessment Tool to complete Assessments of residential aged care recipients nationally.  Current contractual arrangements cease on 30 June 2022.
The Department is seeking to engage a Registered Training Organisation to deliver Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) Assessor training for the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.
The Department may exercise its right under the Contract to extend the Term for a period or periods up to 12 months to 30 June 2024.
The Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is required to provide training and testing services, in agreement with the Department, specifically to:

attract, recruit, onboard and retain suitably qualified, experienced and Credentialed persons to fill necessary training positions;
train and test the AN-ACC Assessor cohort as required;
engage with AMOs and the Department to provide experienced Peer Educators for ‘on-the-ground’ experience and support at training sessions;
maintain and enhance AN-ACC Assessor training and testing materials;
develop, train and maintain an online AN-ACC Assessor Renewal course and exam for active AN-ACC Assessors; and
provide operational information to the Department through regular contract management meetings and reporting products, as required by the Department.

Tenderers are invited to submit a Tender to deliver the whole of the Services only. Tenderers must be in a position to begin delivering the Services from 1 July 2022 with additional support from the Department until October 2022.
