Description
The Ministry’s Policing and Security Branch (PSB) is seeking a contractor to assist in the development of a Provincial Public Order Training Framework as part of its Public Order and Critical Incidents (POCI) Work Plan.PSB established the POCI Work Plan in April 2022 to explore enhanced public order response mechanisms across the province, including the provision of holistic, progressively aligned, comprehensive, collaboratively developed, and best-practice public order training for new recruits, front-line officers, specialty public order teams, police liaison teams, and public order command.The Contractor resulting from this RFP will: assess pre-identified and/or pre-existing courses or course delivery mechanisms for equivalency and/or alignment with Provincial standards and requirements. work with educational and professional stakeholders to examine and secure potential delivery options and/or agreements. work with educational and professional stakeholders to develop new police training courses, if deemed necessary. support ongoing evergreening of curated and/or newly created Provincial police training courses, and/or frameworks. develop a draft Provincial Training Framework, in collaboration with PSB and its policing partners. provide advice as needed on training requirements in response to emerging issues, studies and reports. provide facilitation support to engage with community partners, as required, and as budget allows.
