Germany - Procurement of Teco TK 5K & 8K heating/cooling units or comparable devices to equip recirculation systems for out-of-season rearing of pikeperch

Description

At the Hohen Wangelin site, the State Research Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries MV is operating a pilot plant for the development of commercial zander production. The aim of the project is to establish commercial zander aquaculture in location-independent rearing systems in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The establishment of zander in aquaculture requires a year-round supply of larvae or fingerlings, which requires egg production outside the zander's natural spawning period in spring. Out-of-season reproduction and rearing is achieved through targeted control of environmental factors, including water temperature. By simulating the spring, the development of embryogenesis is controlled and, after hatching, the water temperature for rearing the larvae and juvenile fish is controlled. The cooling technology previously used has come to a standstill due to heavy wear and multiple repairs and urgently needs to be replaced. In addition, there is an amendment on the use of certain refrigerants, the use of which will be banned in future for reasons of sustainability.
For this reason, it is imperative that the circulation systems are equipped with alternative and environmentally friendly heating/cooling units.
