Description
IReL wishes to enter an agreement for Electronic Archiving Services providing a reliable digital preservation solution for licensed publications. The solution must provide long-term preservation of licensed publisher content and provide access to preserved content, should the following occur:• Cessation of a publisher’s operations• Discontinuation of a title by a publisher• Back issues are no longer offered by a publisher• Catastrophic and sustained failure of a publisher’s delivery platformThe successful tenderer must have existing license agreements with the publishers IReL licenses content from (see https://irel.ie/resources/) to allow the service to preserve the content long-term, and to make the content securely available to IReL member libaries should specific trigger events occur.
