Germany - Planning services for site clearance/demolition - demolition of a sports hall in Mainz

Description

The state capital of Mainz intends to build a three-field hall with grandstands and additional training rooms for club sports at the "Freizeitbereich an der Oberen Kreuzstraße" site in the Mombach district. In addition to the sports hall, additional car parking spaces are planned.
The project area is located on the southern edge of the Mainz-Mombach district, at the junction of Obere Kreuzstraße and Erzbergerstraße, parcel 8, plot no. 236/7. The property is wholly owned by the city. Groundwater protection zones I and III apply to the area. The large indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Mainz-Mombach is located in the immediate vicinity.
The project area (planned measure) is approx. 12,000 m² in size. The urban layout of the construction site is currently being determined by a survey.
Currently, the project area still contains the sports hall from 1965 (approx. 2,000 m²) and a parking lot, which will have to be demolished as part of the planned measure.
