Germany - Planning - construction of a new machine cooling system at UfW Borken-Hessen

DB Energie GmbH operates a converter station (Ufw) for traction current/train operation with two rotating electrical machines E1 and E2 at the site in Borken/Hesse.
A recooling plant is installed at the Borken site to supply the two electrical machines with cooling water.
The recooling plant is designed as an evaporative cooler with an open circuit and is no longer state of the art in all respects.
The project developer therefore intends to replace the existing recooling plant with a new recooling plant.
Various recooling concepts have already been examined and evaluated by the GET planning office as part of a comparable project. A modular closed recooling system was developed as a suitable solution for the task, which is now to be transferred to the Borken site and implemented as far as possible unchanged, taking into account the site parameters.
The preliminary planning Lp2 was carried out and completed in 2021 and 2022.
The preliminary planning required for the realization of the project at the Borken site for the individual trades is now to be reviewed, processed and used for the subsequent service phases. The preliminary planning has been completed and is available in Annex 24 et seq. to the project
