Description
The proposed contract requires field reconnaissance of forty (40) planned timber development blocks and associated access roads for timber sale licence development located across the South Zone Field Team operating areas in the BC Timber Sales (BCTS) Okanagan-Columbia Business Area.A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) will be required to complete the work outlined in the contract. Field reconnaissance will require working in various conditions, including isolated areas. Activities will include but are not limited to block planning, assessments (blocks, roads, bridges, terrain, forest health, wildlife, visuals, etc.) and the delivery of Block Reconnaissance Reports.Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the fiscal year to meet the business area quarterly targets. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
