Description of Work :
CORE V/L (Canadian Operational Research Environment for Vulnerability and Lethality) is a human Vulnerability/Lethality software. It includes a 3D CAD anatomical model of a standing human, a shotline routine that is used to simulate different projectile penetration and paths, a routine that simulates projectile behaviour in the human body and a module that calculates the injury outcome. The shotline routine interrogates the 3D CAD model, and body segments/organs intersected by the shotlines are considered potentially affected. The projectile deceleration routine is used to assess a wound track and the level of physical damage created by the projectile. Depending of which tissue and organ is impacted, resulting medical and operational outcome are calculated.
This contract consists of a series of modifications to the CORE V/L software. More precisely, the objectives of this contract are:
To define and implement a process to “dress” and “protect” the 3D CAD anatomical model using 3D CAD models of clothing generated from scans;
To enable articulation of the 3D CAD protected/clothed anatomical model using an articulation/rigging software; and
To integrate an external hemorrhage model into CORE V/L that will enables the translation of “wounds” to the risk of hemorrhagic shock.
