Australia - Notice - Application Sustainment and Support Services for CIOG- Invitation to Register (ITR)

This AusTender notification has been issued to provide advance notice of an upcoming Approach to Market (ATM), which is proposed to be conducted via an Invitation to Register (ITR) and limited Request for Quote (RFQ), with the ITR scheduled for release by the Commonwealth of Australia represented by the Department of Defence (Defence) by mid January 2020. ITR request documentation will be made available to Approved Suppliers on the ICT Provider Arrangement (ICTPA) Application Services Tower only (SON3520191).
The Commonwealth is seeking industry to register its interest to provide Application Support Services to the Enterprise Technology Operations Branch (ETOB) within the Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) of the Defence, under a new strategic approach to software and application sustainment support. 
It is the Commonwealth’s intent to use an ITR to shortlist potential suppliers to provide application sustainment support for each individual Work Package (potentially three). These shortlisted tenderer groups will then be invited to respond to a RFQ under the ICTPA Application Services Tower for each respective Work Package.
In conducting an ITR, the Commonwealth is seeking an outcome that will:
a. provide industry with a clear understanding of Defence’s strategic approach to sustainment of its ICT systems and applications into the future; b. encourage industry members that are not currently an approved supplier on the ICTPA Application Services Tower (‘Approved Suppliers’) to partner with Approved Suppliers noting the size and complexity of the proposed Work Packages; and
c. identify potential industry partners that have the appropriate capability, capacity and experience to satisfy the requirements during this ITR process, thereby reducing the time spent by Defence in evaluating a large number of complex and detailed RFQ responses.
The ITR will be released to Approved Suppliers on the ICTPA Application Services Tower only. An industry briefing will be held once the ITR has been released giving industry an opportunity to discuss Defence's requirements and allow other industry members that are not currently an approved Supplier on the ICTPA Application Services Tower to discuss the opportunity with industry partners.
